After the frustrations of the kitesurfing. I thought I\'d have more enjoyment windsurfing so got the 5.7 rigged up and my 80 litre board. Bad decision as I shoulda gone for the big board and the 6.3. Got too the shoreline just as the wind had dropped down to 15mph.
2 other local lads were out windsurfing as well and were just about planing.
Got going but never planing as the wind droped of even further. I then fell in and there wasn\'t enough wind to waterstart. Uphauling wasn\'t an option so I managed to swim to the shoreline before the fast outgoing tide took me out to sea. Was pretty scary how fast it was travelling at. Musta been a good 5 knots.
I was a good 1/4 mile from where I started so managed to scramble back in with the board on the verge of sinking the whole time so was pretty hard work. A waste of time really. The 20mph wind only lasted for half an hour or so in which time I spent it rigging up my windsurfing kit.
A frustrating weekend!
